14-year-old with sighing respirations: Anxiety diagnosis?

This child presents with sighing of unclear etiology. In this case, the PCP has a better understanding of the fabric of the family and may have known the child for many years. With the child’s history of asthma, one might think this presentation is related to an underlying respiratory disorder. Anxiety is a diagnosis of exclusion in this case.
