About Joy

Presidential Fellow, EMS Faculty, Central New Mexico Community College; Apple Distinguished Educator. Joy Cherry works full-time at Central New Mexico Community College as EMS faculty and Internship Coordinator. For the 2019/2020 school year, she was selected by the college as a Presidential Fellow and is helping faculty integrate technology into the classroom. In 2012, she was one of the first in the nation to implement iPads into EMS education, and as a result, was chosen as an Apple Distinguished Educator. She has been a paramedic since 1997 and teaching EMS since 2010.
